Tried to capture the steam coming off the bowl of squash. There's a bit there, but not what I was hoping for. On the "up side", it was the best squash I've had in years!
Welcome to our shared 365 photography project! We are a mother-daughter photography duo working to document a picture a day throughout 2013. We hope to alternate between mom and daughter shots via our Canon Rebel XSi, Canon Rebel XT, and iPod Touch cameras. Feel free to leave a comment if you like what you see!

Day #319 - Wreath
While walking, I spotted this wreath, with no explanation of why it was placed there in the first place! I assumed it was there because of Veterans Day! I loved this even more, because it is almost that time of the year for wreaths!
Day #318 - Tug Boats
These Tug Boats were just sitting in the harbor with these very interesting yellow boxes on the back. Come to find out, they were going to be transported and placed in the bottom for submarines to dock on! Very interesting!
Day #317 - Fly Away!
I was originally taking a picture of the posts in the water, but then a seagull decided to make the picture and fly away. I caught him in mid-flight, luckily!
Day #316 - Posts
These posts must have been holding something up, quite a while ago! I love how they are covered with filth, except for the very tops!
Day #315 - Reflecting
This is one of my favorite pictures that I've taken! The boat was already pretty neat, but the squiggly reflection looks even cooler!
Day #314 - Mast
While visiting family, I walked near the harbor. Much to my surprise, I saw a very large mast, as you can see the comparison to a "normal" sized boat's mast to the right.

Day #313- Dappled
Shot this at school this week with my iPhone. I believe these could be altocumulus clouds decorating the sky?
Day #312- Bzzzzz
Yup- it's a wasp nest...hanging directly over the middle of our
street. Funny what you'll find once the leaves drop!
Day #310- Autumn Estuary
A colorized view of the previous shot, however looking in a different direction. The red berries really stood out.
Day #309- Ocean Inlet
Went shopping with a friend last weekend. Believe it or not, this tranquil scene was just steps from a shopping mecca!

Day #308- Hiking Panorama
So this is my first panorama put together in Photoshop. I watched a quick how-to video, and was surprised how very easy it was! This is actually a 180˚ view at the summit of our hike yesterday, stitched into one panoramic shot. My husband is checking out the view below. It was a gorgeous day, and likely the last one of THAT caliber for months to come!
Day #307- Path in the Moss
Walking along the trail yesterday we came upon this path that had been worn to the ledge below, with moss on either side. Kind of a neat, little path!
Day #306- White Oak
Even though we're into November, there's still a little color left to be seen! On our hike yesterday we came across many species of trees we don't see as much of in the dooryard. Case in point, I believe these to be white oak leaves. I can't say, however, that they were on a "tree". More like a scrubby bush closer to the summit of the mountain we hiked. I liked the smattering of colors in the light of the sun!
Day #305- Water Stop
Did some more hiking this weekend. On the way, drove along a road we'd never been on before, and saw this awesome old water tower. Instinctively, I expected there had to be railroad tracks nearby, and sure enough we spotted some just down the road! Although I probably should have, I'd never quite put together why the water towers were often near tracks. So I did a quick Internet search and discovered that they were called "water stops", originating with steam engines and the frequent need to replenish water. I even found out that some isolated water stops were favorite ambush spots for train robbers. Hopefully this was a peaceful water stop!

Day #304 - Twinkling Lights
I love how in this picture, there's one light in focus and get blurrier as you go to the left! It's getting to be that time!
