Last of the acceptable shots from the pumpkin festival. This one was actually my favorite! Happy Halloween!
Welcome to our shared 365 photography project! We are a mother-daughter photography duo working to document a picture a day throughout 2013. We hope to alternate between mom and daughter shots via our Canon Rebel XSi, Canon Rebel XT, and iPod Touch cameras. Feel free to leave a comment if you like what you see!

Day #302- Hearts to You
I was experimenting with some different styles at the pumpkin festival this weekend. This was actually a "tower" of electrified pumpkins, all carved with hearts. Looked a bit like the hearts were flowing out!

Day #301- Jack-O-Lanterns
Last weekend there was a nearby pumpkin festival, for which our school contributed a number of jack-o-lanterns. We didn't carve these, but I loved the unusual way they were designed!

Day #300- Summit
It was a little hazy looking out over the summit, but plenty of mountains in whichever direction we looked. This is a shot of my husband looking northward.
Day #299- Rock Face
As we looked over to another nearby summit, the red berries we saw everywhere (we're now thinking Mountain Ash), and the tall spruce framed a steep rock face. If you look really closely, there were people on that summit enjoying the view!
Day #298- Igneous?
On our hike last weekend, found this interesting rock on the summit. Lots of granite up there. And then there was this. Looked like it had been heated up at some point with its swirls.

Day #297- Mountaintop
A view from the summit last weekend. This was one of the many neighboring mountains. Notice the spruce to the left laden with cones. Also, if you look carefully, the red berries that I posted earlier this week dot the mountainside.

Day #295- Red Berries
Okay, I need some help here. On our hike Saturday we saw small trees (large bushes?) that had lost their leaves, however had bunches of these brilliant red berries. They were further up in elevation, near the summit. No clue what type...

Day #294- Bright Red With Anxiety
Every fall I read my class Charlotte's Web. I've probably read it over 20 times by now! As we were hiking this weekend I shot this red maple leaf. Instantly recalled the line from the book describing the coming of fall- "A little maple tree in the swamp heard the cricket song and turned bright red with anxiety."
Day #293- Floating
Still a few lonely red leaves to be found on Saturday's hike. This one was floating in one of the streams.

Day #292- Morning Moon
Looked out in the other direction at camp just before breakfast to see the full moon setting behind the mountain. Unfortunately, those darned trees obscured it quite a bit. There was no way for me to get to a better vantage point before it totally set.
Day #291- Morning Pastels
Headed up to camp this weekend. Yesterday morning I walked out early to be greeted by a variety of pastel shades in the sky.
Day #290- Dappled
This has got to be the last maple in our yard yet to fully change color. Still mostly green, but dappled with yellows and oranges!
Day #289- Crimson Mums
I know there is likely a name of this variety of mum. Didn't pay attention when I bought it a few weeks ago. Happy is hasn't succumbed to the cold night temperatures!
Day #288- More Kale
My daughter posted another shot of this same kale plant last week. Decided to attempt a different angle!
Day #287- River Reflections
We are currently "past peak" here, although last weekend shot what turned out to be a "reflective" shot at a nearby river. Again, pleased with the quality of my iPhone!

Day #285 - Kale
Recently, we got a kale plant. I had never seen one, but I love the bright colors of green and purple! It looks absolutely stunning!
Day #284 - Mums
It's that time of the year! Everything else seems to be dying, but these Mums are far from that! They have all bloomed and look beautiful!

Day #282- Buoys
Last weekend I spotted all these colorful buoys hanging on the outside of a nearby restaurant. I have to say, this was just a fun picture to shoot! :)

Day #281- Cloudy Coast
As we wrapped up our day trip this weekend, I wanted to see at least one new lighthouse. (Does this mean I'm getting older if I'm "collecting" lighthouse sightings???) Not sure how when gets out to visit this one. I'm thinking back in the day living out there was for the hardy souls.

Day #279- All Locked Up
We walked across the bridge to the next town, and found that several of the bridge supports were adorned with padlocks. I thought it a bit odd, however perhaps there's some story behind this that I just don't know of!
Day #278- Three Dories
These boats are called dories. It's a traditional fishing boat that has been built for centuries. These three have been here for years as a tourist staple in town! I liked the way they floated together gently moving about with the current.
Day #277- Whole Lot of Hydrangea!
As we walked around the shops in town, there were flowers EVERYWHERE! (Someone is kept very busy on floral detail there!) I am assuming these are three different varieties of hydrangea. I really liked the subtle differences in shade!
Day #276- Autumn Church
Yesterday my mom and I headed out for a "girls day". Went to a coastal town with lots of history and lots of shops. (And Canon came along for the ride!) This church is approximately 175 years old. Had never been a big fan of wind... until I began snapping shots here, and a big gust blew free some leaves, one right into the frame! Thanks, Wind! For once you were helpful!

Day #275- All Stacked Up
The greenhouse had a plethora of perfect pumpkins! I processed this shot with PSE9's Lomo Camera effect.
Day #274- Purple Petunias
At the greenhouse I was surprised that they had ANY hanging baskets left! This was the only variety of petunia.
Day #273- Yellow Mums
Stopped by the local greenhouse yesterday for some products for my lawn. Project365 cardinal rule- always carry your camera with you!
