Day #151 - Sign of Summer #2

It's starting to look and feel like summer out there! It's so humid and hot out, not a good combination! This picture is a nice sign of summer - lots of color!

The blueberry plant in our yard always produces that yummiest blueberries! It's good to see it's starting to bud out, just in time for summer!

Day #149 - Stairs

I love the repetition and contrast of the stairs and carpet! It makes for a great picture!

Day #148- In The Pink

At the risk of posting ANOTHER flower pic... yes, it's another flower pic! Got this great "fake broken pot" at the home improvement store over the weekend. It lays on its side displaying whatever potted plant you'd like to show off. This one came loaded with pretty pink petunias!

Day #147 - Mowed

It's a breath of fresh air when the sun shines after a long week of constant rain. The grass was so ready to be mowed, which created a cool picture of the lines.

Day #146- Remembering

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, originally known as Decoration Day. Many of the graves of soldiers are adorned with flags. I remember leaving flowers on family headstones each year as well. Regardless of military or civilian, it's good to remember those who came before.

With all this rain, it's the perfect time for a little cat nap!

Day #143 - Painted Window

I had the privilege of volunteering at a local hospital today. I was able to paint windows for the kids! This llama came out very well! 

Day #142- White Lilac

Our lilacs are just about to bloom. Love the smell. I always associate lilacs with coming home from college, as they were in full bloom about that time of year. Now I have to associate them with my kids coming home from college!

This isn't my cat! No! I had the opportunity to volunteer at a local animal shelter and hang out with this cutie!

Day #139 - Rain Drops

Rain keeps falling against the windows, making for some nifty pictures! Rain, rain, go away, come again another day!

Day #138- Log Claw

When he was in high school, my son designed and built this log trailer with a hydraulic crane and claw with which to load and unload logs. Last week he completed his sophomore year as a mechanical engineering technology major. Pretty talented guy!

Day #137 - Well

Old things always have a sort of beauty to them, just like this old well we have in our yard. The rust colored well is accompanied by webs that show how little it gets used. 

Day #136- Blue Hydrangea

Got home late last night, but was happy to shoot and post this morning. This is one of the lovely Teacher Appreciation gifts I got last week. Can't wait to plant it and see it grow!

I love the "ombre" look of the piano keys! The repetition really added to the beauty of the photograph!

Day #134- First Mow of the Season

I am the "mower" in the family. I enjoy it- I like the physical aspect of mowing, and I find it emotionally therapeutic as well. I know, crazy, right? It was quite satisfying to start up the old Craftsman late this afternoon. Cheers!

Dandelions can be very pesky, but people never stop to look at how interesting they really are! Even so with a small insect nestled in.

Lots of these lovely little violets are popping up about the yard!

A day late on my post- oops! Better late than never, I guess! The azaleas are in bloom!

We were blessed with some much needed rainfall! It has already started to green up grass everywhere, not to mention, make for some great pictures!!

Each week new bulbs are blooming around our school. Thank goodness someone took the time to plant these bulbs years ago!

We've got a brand new train station nearby, offering a new option of public transportation to several cities south of us. Glad that this old railroad line has been revived once more!

Day #122- Morning Forsythia

Sorry for the overabundance of flower shots as of late. Just so happy when this kind of flora begins to appear! This is some of the beautiful forsythia that is found outside my school. Brought my camera to school and captured this against the morning sun as I walked in today!

Day #121 - Bee Happy

There was a lovely surprise buzzing through the plants. As I took the picture, I realized the different coloring this bee had. It's no ordinary bee, it's yellow and... brown? Very interesting and unique.
