Day #58- Here We Go Again

This is what I came home in this afternoon. Huge, wet, greasy snowflakes made for a slippery drive! How many days until spring???

Day #53- Powering Up

February Break is about over, and for a number of reasons, this was not the most restful of vacations. Sometimes you just push through. And with next Monday looming, yes, it's time to begin powering up.

Day #52- Petals

So the tulips featured in Day #46- Post-Valentine Beauty, have begun to fall apart. As I resurrected the remaining blooms, these petals fell, giving me a new photo opportunity! Purposely over-exposed it a bit.

Day #51- Red and White

Senior year of high school is filled with many different "rites of passage". Not sure if having one's wisdom teeth removed counts as one of those activities, but that's how my daughter is spending her February break. While she recovers, I'm filling in for a few consecutive days. 

This umbrella is from her top college pick- we bought it this summer as we toured the campus in torrential rain! Time will tell if these colors become her school colors next year.

Searched for a shot that would get me outside today before the next "winter event". The garage was as far as I got!

Day #48- Candle in the Wind

Another super windy weekend day. Pulled out some candles in case the power went out. Luckily (so far) they haven't been needed. Processed this in PSE9 with a Fresco filter.

Day #47 - Feeling Blue

As we were out doing some retail therapy, our eyes were caught by these decorative balls! Once we returned home, I knew they would make a great picture!

Day #46- Post-Valentine Beauty

My husband sent me flowers for Valentine's Day. They sat on my desk at school until today, when I brought them home. This afternoon the light shone in on them at just the right angle to highlight the beautiful shades and shapes!

It's Valentine's Day! It seems like everyone has a valentine, including Graham!

Day #44- Special Delivery

It's that time of year when my students bring in a special container in which to collect their Valentines. I ask them to recycle if they can, show creativity, and make it unique...just like them. I marvel each year at how each one of them expresses their own special personality!

Our cat finally stood still for one second for me to take this picture. I love how big his eyes are! They instantly draw your eyes in!

We were hit hard by winter storm Nemo. Along with the large amount of snow, the wind was a huge problem as well. Luckily though, the wind made some pretty nifty marks in the snow, which made for an interesting picture!

Day #38- Feeling Lucky?

I was hoping for a snow day tomorrow. Sounds like a significant storm is on the way, but timing won't keep us from finishing out the week. I know I'll appreciate this come June.

Day #37 - Shining Light

The sun was in a perfect position as it shone through a door window. It is almost as though the window is framing the sun.

Day #36- Fruit Salad

I've started bringing more fresh fruit with lunch this week and prepping it the night before. Threw this together last night, and loved the combination of colors. (Enjoyed the variety of flavors at lunch today as well!)

Day #34- Winter Shore

Yesterday my daughter and I headed to a local state park to shoot for this weekend's posts. It was wonderful to get outdoors and shoot something outside the house and dooryard for once! But was it ever cold near the water- brutally so! This picture may look tranquil, but it didn't feel it!
